Our Columbus Depot type I is based off the Weller Jacket. For information on this jacket please see this article by Geoffrey R. Walden. Columbus depot jackets were produced primarily for the Army of Tennessee. Variations occur for example one existing jacket has 5 buttons while most have 6.

Six piece body one piece sleeve does not have a pocket on the outside of the jacket but has two set in pockets on the inside of the jacket. 6 button front. Dyed blue wool 2/2 twill collar and cuffs. Lined in our premium osnaburg.
